I am using a DM6437. Is the JTAG for an MSP430 compatible with this DSP? If it isn't what is the cheapest JTAG available for it?

No, the JTAG for the MSP430 is not compatible with the DM6437.
There are XDS560 USB emulation pods from Blackhawk-DSP and Spectrum Digital that are reasonable.
It should also be possible to use the XDS100v2, available from either, as well. The caveat is mainly speed.
Thank you for the quick reply. The XDS560 seems outside of my price range, but the XDS100v2 might be a plausible option. But are you certain that the XDS100v2 would support a Davinci DSP? In reviewing the XDS100 datasheet, it seems that several cores are not supported. Also, just how much slower would the XDS100v2 be as compared to other emulation tools?
The TMS320DM6437 uses the C64X+ DSP CPU which is supported by the XSD100v2.
Additional information on the XDS100 series of emulators is below.

Regarding it's relative speed to others, the XDS510 and XDS560 are going to be faster. I don't have quantified numbers.
