Tool/software: Linux
Dear Processor team,
I would need your advice about the support of Toshiba TC58NVG1S3 NAND flash on AM335x CPU for Linux based design. A customer has a problem with bit-flips and ECC errors and UBI mounting problems on an AM335x based board equipped with the Toshiba TC58NVG1S3 NAND chip.
An example of a log from the UBI mounting is as follows:
[ 64.641058] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 36
[ 64.711547] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 48
[ 64.716966] UBI: run torture test for PEB 48
[ 64.976219] UBI: PEB 48 passed torture test, do not mark it as bad
[ 65.015507] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 36
[ 65.085584] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 48
[ 65.091894] UBI: run torture test for PEB 48
These errors only occur when HW ECC is selected (BCH8). When using SW ECC, no problems have been seen so far. They use kernel 3.14.43.
Do you have already got any experience regarding this issue?
Is this issue solved in the new kernel release 4.4.32
Thanks for your advice,
Kind regards,
Giuseppe
