Linux/AM4376: changing 4 x8 DDR to 2 x16 DDR for AM4376 custom board, what possible changes will I have to make to support this?

Hi,

Since I have new to DDR stuff, We are changing 4 x8 DDR3 (Which are in GP EVM AM4376) to 2 x16 DDR3 2GB in custom board. What possible changes will I have to make in kernel and/or uboot and where ? And how can I set timing parameters for the same ? Interfacing is fly by topology.

Hi Chintan,

You'll have to modify your u-boot. The ddr & board related configurations from arch/arm/cpu/armv7/am33xx / & board/ti/am43xx/

You should focus on the lisa map registers to mimic your hardware changes (specifically the distribution of the DDR chips between the emifs).
