C6678 H264HP Scale Question

Hi

My customer plans to use C6678 to integrate the following:

1. scale h264 hp 1080P60 to H264 HP 720p25

2. scale h264 hp 1080P30 to H264 HP 720p25

My customer would like to know how many cores will method 1 and 2 be used? Thank you.

I also post the thread on Keystone multicore Forum

  • Hi YC,

From the encoder side we have H264 HP 720p30 needs 4 cores. Depending on used tools (for example CAVL instead of CABAC or less B frames, etc) it might be possible to squeeze 720p25 in 3 cores. Please check H.264 Encoder data sheet for more details

From the decoder side we have that we can use 4-core decoder for decoding in real time a 1080p30 stream. 1080p60 could be decode but it won't be in real time. For more information please check H.264 Decoder data sheet

About scaling our TSU (Image Resizing) can be fit in less than 1 core.

    thank you,

    Paula

  • Hi Paula,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. Now I can estimate H264HP codec integrity for my customer.
