McSPI Slave specific API function calls removed in StarterWare V2.0.0.7

The APIs related to McSPI slave mode are removed because they are not tested/demonstrated via example application and hence are not supported. Support is removed from StarterWare02.00.0.07 release.

Thanks for your response. Even though there is no StarterWare example application to exercise the McSPI slave mode, I was able to get the slave mode working in StarterWare02.00.00.06. I do have a setup with a SPI master talking to the AM335x acting as the SPI slave. Do you know of any plans to bring back the slave mode APIs? It would be a shame not to since it does work and I would rather not have to port the slave functionality to newer StarterWare versions. Thanks.

Hi, 

      In StarterWare we follow a general strategy of not providing API for features that we don't support. For eg slave mode of McSPI. These APIs were added initially by mistake. So we cleaned them in the last release. 

Since these are individual APIs, i hope it will be easier to port them to the latest release.

Since TI does not support the McSPI slave mode, has the McSPI slave mode ever been tested by TI? Since I've gotten the AM335X McSPI slave mode working with a SPI master, are there known bugs or issues? Would you or would you not recommend a customer using the McSPI feature?

If a customer needed SPI slave on the AM335X, what is TI's official response? Yes or No?

I agree that porting is not an issue as the APIs were self-contained.

Where can I get 'AM335X Industrial SDK V1.0.0.4' or 'AM335X StarterWare V2.0.0.6'?

Is there somehow possibility to port McSPI slave from StartWare to Linux McSPI driver?

I am newbie in Linux and any advice would be helpful.
