I'm using CCS5 and working with a our own PCB . I'm using the DSP C6655 in our platform. Our platform is based om the EVM C6657 with the same components.

I 'm dealing with several crash issues on runtime when our sw launched from DDR3 and the same sw works fint if the sw is launched from MSM RAM.

From DSP's UART we can have see the error of the kernel hook function:

nrp=0x8001a4c0

ntsr=0x1820f

ierr=0x0

My question is now, can I, som how, get a kind of core dump during after a crash. Then I can load the core dump to debugger and see the call stack ?

Hi Tam,

In CCS 6, there is support for Task call stacks in ROV for SYS/BIOS.

Tam,ROV is always present. You do not have to enable anything.Todd

Hi Todd

But I have to launch the sw from debug, right?
We have a problem if our board is running at the field without a debug. The only interface we have is the UART to dump the hook information from the OS. How can we translate this information to a call stack

To use ROV, yes you need to have CCS connected to the target.

For just sending data out the UART, you have some of the following options

1. Route the System_printf (and printf if you want) out the UART. When something bad happens, this output might be useful. It appears from your first post, you are already doing this.

2. If you have a bootloader, make it a smarter to detect a crash and have it dump the core out the UART. Of course, the bootloader might be running in the same memory, so you'll have to partition it off to preserve the core.
