SN65HVD235: RS Pin floating

I am attempting to locate a drop in replacement for the TCAN332D that offers higher bus fault voltage tolerance.

The SN65HVD235 appears to be a possibility with one possible problem. The RS pin appears to need a ground, pull up or a resistor. This pin (Pin 8) on the TCAN332DR is a NC, so on the boards it is not connected. Is there any information about what this part will do if that pin is left floating?
