TPD2E2U06-Q1: Peak pulse current and power

Part Number: TPD2E2U06-Q1

Hello,

What does "tp = 8/20 us" mean for peak pulse current and power specs of 6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings in p.4 of the datasheet?

This should be related to the figure below in p.7 of the datasheet. There are two questions about this figure:

Why does the time start before 0?

The peak of both current and power seems exceeding the absolute maximum ratings. Why is this acceptable?

Thanks!

  • Hi Oguri,

The 8/20 us means that the pulse has an 8 us rise time and a 20 us half life.

I'm not sure why the time starts at -20 us. We can work on correcting that in the datasheet. Thank you for pointing it out.

Regarding the current and power rating, this graph was taken on one part. There is a possibility for all parts that the current and power rating can be a little higher than the spec'd value. The value in the abs max table is just the guaranteed rating across all parts.

    Regards,
