TUSB1042I: Can I use TUSB321 to control the CTL0 and FLIP pins?

Can I use the ID pin(321) to toggle the CTL0 and the DIR pin(321) to toggle the FLIP pin? I will use a separate chip to mange PD.

Hi,

You should use the PD controller GPIOs to control TUSB1042I. You should not have a CC controller and PD controller connected on CC pins. TUSB321, in this case, will disrupt USB-C negotiation.

Sorry for the confusion. Only attaching the CC pins to the CC controller.

I found this diagram from TI for applications requiring 15w or less. This is what I'm looking to accomplish(minus the USB2 redriver).

Can the 1042 be configured without programming via I2C or GPIO? Can it be done with pull-ups, pull-downs and the TUSB321?

Hi,

TUSB1042I will need some configuration from the TUSB321 through DIR (to control FLIP). CTL0 control needs to be toggled in GPIO when no device is connected.
