Can I use the ID pin(321) to toggle the CTL0 and the DIR pin(321) to toggle the FLIP pin? I will use a separate chip to mange PD.

I found this diagram from TI for applications requiring 15w or less. This is what I'm looking to accomplish(minus the USB2 redriver).
Can the 1042 be configured without programming via I2C or GPIO? Can it be done with pull-ups, pull-downs and the TUSB321?
