SN65MLVD206: PSPICE Simulation Model

Part Number: SN65MLVD206

I needed to simulate a circuit that uses SN65MLVD206D. But I haven’t found any PSPICE or LTSpice model/part for it. PSPICE part will be preferable since I have already built the circuit in PSPICE with almost all other parts/components. In case, a PSPICE part/model is not possible, LTSpice part may work as well (although in that case I will have to look for other parts in LTspice, which may be challenging too). Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we only have IBIS models for this device.

I am not sure, but the available IBIS model in your website for this part seems to be corrupted. Whenever I try to load it from my PSPICE Model Editor, I get an error message. If possible, please check and help me with this. Thank you.

I am able to load the IBIS model as expected into ADS. Can you share a screenshot?

Actually, I was trying PSPICE Model Editor, not ADS.

Unfortunately I am not able to check this specific simulator. IBIS model was designed to work with simulators like ADS and HyperLynx.

I am relatively new with ADS. If possible, please suggest me any website or tutorial on how to add IBIS model in ADS schematic. I tried myself, but could not find the option to add this IBIS model to my schematic.

Hi,

You will want to search for the "IBIS Generic Component" in the Parts windows on the left. Place the "IBIS Generic Component" in the schematic and link the IBIS file form the file directory to the component.

Thanks so much Malik, your instruction on adding IBIS model was very helpful. However, I have found IBIS_DIO to be more suitable/matching with SN65MLVD206. But now, I am having problem understanding the pins of IBIS_DIO. I identified a few, but not very confident about it. It will be very helpful if you can let me know the 'pin correspondence' between IBIS_DIO and SN65MLVD206.

Hi,

The IBIS_DIO symbol only represents a single diff pair of SN65MLVD206 (Ex. Pin 6 and 7) as selected in the setup menu. The only pins that correspond to the device would be IO_NI and IO_I. All others are for simulation purposes. See an example circuit below to get you started and A link to describe the symbol pins in ADS.
