ONET2591TA: ONET2591TA input referred noise

Part Number: ONET2591TA

I have another question about the noise.  Assuming we use the ONET2591TA and ONET4291TA with the same photodiode, and filter both outputs to 1GHz, how will they compare in terms of output noise ?  Do you have an estimate of the noise performance of both TIAs with 0.6pF capacitance and 1GHz operating bandwidth ?

Thanks,

Patrick Lepage

  • Hello Patrick,

For estimation, since both would use the same photodiode and most components would be internal, then the varying factor would be the input referred RMS noise for both devices. Input referred RMS noise is the RMS output noise / gain at 100MHz. This is an integrated value over the bandwidth specified in the datasheets. Or you can use the input referred noise current density which will vary over bandwidth.

    Thank you,

    Sima
