EMI/ESD filter in a camera connector

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730, TPD8F003, TPD3F303

Hello, I don't want to have problems with the EMC process  so I add to my design a EMI/EMC filter to protect a bus of camera module in a DM3730 platform.

I've chosen for this purpose the IC TPD8F003.

I've read in the document: "SPRS685D – AUGUST 2010 – REVISED APRIL 2011", that the signal: cam_xclka has a fMAX = 216  MHz., and in the TPD8F003 data sheet appears in Absolute Maximum Rating table that the Cut-off frequency = 200 MHz.

Is it a good idea to use this chip for this purpose?

  • Hello Oscar,

As you have noted, the TPD8F003 has a -3dB cutoff frequency of 200MHz. This will attenuate your camera frequency line of 216MHz, so this will not work with your system.

We have a device that has a -3dB Bandwidth of 300MHz. It is the TPD3F303, so it is a 3-channel device. Would this possibly work in your system?

    Thanks, Dwight
