DS250DF810: Difference between different ADAPT MODE

Part Number: DS250DF810

Hi team,

Programming Guide 6.12 mention Mode 2 is recommended for most high-loss channels.

Customer uses 25.78125Gbps, is the mode 2 recommended?

What is the difference in actual behavior of DS250DF810? For example, it can make the lock time short or something.

Best regards,

Hideki

    • Adapt mode 1 involves CTLE only and no DFE.
    • Adapt mode 2 involves CTLE and DFE. CTLE is adapted to an optimal level, then the DFE is adapted to an optimal level.
    • Adapt mode 3 also involves CTLE and DFE. CTLE is only adapted until the CDR can achieve lock, next the DFE is adapted to an optimal level. Then the CTLE is re-adapted to an optimal level.

Adapt mode 1 translates to the fastest CDR lock time and adaption time. Adapt modes 2 and 3 are comparable timing wise.

    Thanks,

    Rodrigo Natal
