I think these devices differ only in the level of ESD protection.
Are MAX3221 and MAX3221E the same die?

Customer are planning to change to E ver. Temporarily due to delivery problems, but in the case of different dies, it is necessary to re-evaluate even with the same performance, so customer inquired.

The TRS3221 is the same.

I doubt that better ESD protection is possible with the same die.

You can also consider TRSF3221(E) and SN65C3221(E)/SN75C3221(E) with higher speeds.

Clemens is correct - the difference in ESD does show too large of a difference. His other options are also possibilities.
