Hi team,

My customer want to use GPIO0 &1 to monitor the voltage and temperature, but have below questions need you support:

1. If GPIO0 already used as an ERROR interrupt input from ISP, can it be configed as voltage & temp sensing function, how to implement it?

2. Can read real ADC result in register or only know from limit and alarm?

Hello Rory,

1) All of the relevant registers for configuring GPIO0 and GPIO1 for voltage sensing functionality are in registers 0x15 - 0x1B in the 953 datasheet. In order to implement the voltage sensing functionality in the 953 GPIO0 pin, you would need to set register 0x17 = 0x0D.

2) There is a way to read the ADC voltage reading, but only after the voltage alarm has been triggered. When the voltage measured at the GPIO pin exceeds the max alarm limit or falls below the min alarm limit, then the values in register 0x58/0x59 will update to show the 3-bit ADC reading of the GPIO pin.

For Q1, can customer used GPIO0/1 as interrupt input and voltage/temp sensing at same time. Or need disable interrupt input function while using voltage/temp sensing?

Hi Rory,

The GPIO pins can only have one functionality enabled at a time. I am unclear on the exact GPIO use in your customer's current setup, but if you want to use GPIO0/1 for their voltage/temperature functionality, you would have to disable other functionality.

See also Section 7.3.4.3.1 Programming Example in the 953 datasheet for an example on how to enable voltage sensing on the GPIO pins and how it can be used to trigger an interrupt on the connected deserializer.
