TUSB2E22: TUSB2E22 layout question

Hi Sir:

I didn't see any more layout guide information in the datasheet.

Could you tell me what is the maximum and minimum length of the EDPx/Nx and DPx/Nx for the layout?

    Hi Milton,

    This would be defined by the eUSB specification.  It doesn't give length requirements, but the longest length I see mentioned is 10 inches.  This should be OK for most applications.  Are your traces longer than 10 inches?

    A more accurate answer would depend on the loss at 240MHz between the host and the TUSB2E22 and the loss between the connector.  These are defined in Table 7.6 of the eUSB specification.  

    1. There should be 1.2dB of loss maximum between the the Host and the TUSB2E22 

    2. There should be 2dB of loss maximum between the TUSB2E22 and the connector.

    The length supported would be dependent on your board stackup, but at 240MHz the trace length can be quite long.
