We have designed a pcb using the DP83TD510E-EVM kit as a guide. We have followed the instructions given in the User guide for the DP83TD510E-EVM to set the mode as a Media Converter. We are connecting our pcb to an APL field switch, but the switch is not detecting the pcb. We are doing the same with the DP83TD510E-EVM and the switch is detecting it. Our understanding is that the DP83TD510E chip does not need to be programmed to work, only setting the proper configurations by using pull up/down resistors. Is this correct? Would appreciate any advice on what to look for to get the switch recognize the DP83TD510E on our pcb.
