I would like to be able to use TUSB2E22 and TUSB2E22A interchangeably without making any other modifications to my board. To put TUSB2E22A into "backward compatible" mode (which makes the PHY settings the same as TUSB2E22), you must pull SCL high and SDA low. On TUSB2E22, these pins correspond to RSVD2 and RSVD1 respectively.
In the datasheet for TUSB2E22, it says to connect a 1k pullup resistor to the RSVD1 and RSVD2 pins. However, in order for the TUSB2E22A to be in backward compatible mode, I will need to connect a pulldown resistor to SDA/RSVD1. Will TUSB2E22 still function properly if RSVD1 is connected to a pulldown resistor instead of a pullup resistor?
