DS36277: Pin to pin with THVD1550

Hi team,

The web says that the DS36277 and THVD1550 are pin-to-pin, but it looks like the Driver Enable circuitry logic is different between the devices. Can you confirm that, in order to make the change, the Driver Enable (nDE / DE) needs to be changed?

Yes, the polarity of the /DE pin of the DS36277 is opposite of that of the THVD1550 (and most other transceivers).

Hi Jacob,

Yes that is a mistake - they aren't pin to pin as the DS36277 has a active high DE pin (/DE) - this is to support a specific standard (SAE J1708) which requires either the DE pin or the data stream into the DE pin to be inverted.

So if you are replacing one for the other the DE pin is opposite polarity.
