[FAQ] DS90UB953-Q1: Does this Serializer have failure mode regarding delayed/frozen video transmission?

Can you pls help to confirm if the serializer (DS90UB953)can have Frozen and delayed video output failure modes? If Yes, pls share the safety mechanisms for these failure modes.

Hello Weicheng,

The DS90UB953-Q1 does not have any failure mode of frozen of delayed video output. This particular failure mode is not possible within the device because the serializer does not contain enough memory to store a video frame. From a functional safety analysis standpoint, these failure modes have no contribution from FPD-Link.
