TUSB1042I: USB3.0 loopback test

The block diagram has the SSTX to SSRX connection backward. SSRX is an output while SSTX is an input, so it should be SSRX driving SSTX.

After power up, the TUSB1042I periodically performs receiver detection on the TX pairs. When far-end receiver termination has been detected on both UFP and DFP. The TUSB1042I enters U0 once far-end termination is detected. So you need to make sure the RX termination is present for this loopback test.

As you described, what I am concerned about is the far end termination detection.

Can the upstream facing port. of TUSB1042I be connected directly in a loopback or must a USB receiver be present?
