Regarding:

TI Designs

ONET SFP+ 10G LR Reference Design With ONET8551T, ONET1151P, and ONET1151L

I am using a TI SFP+ Host Board (Rev. 2 2013 – 6572666) to communicate with a plugged-in 10G SFP+ (1550 nm) and read the threshold signals (ideally, I would like to read the received optical power measured by SFP+’s ROSA).

I cannot communicate with the SFP+ module when I try to access them through the GUI. Is there any other resource that I can assist me in setting up the communication and accessing the registers?

I am unsure if you have seen the reference design pdf that accompanies this board, but here is the pdf downloadable link to a step-by-step guide on GUI and board set-up (starting page 12, section 3)

Hello Sima,

Thank you very much. Yes, I followed the reference design step by step where it relates to the Host Board setup. However, I am still unable to communicate with a third-party SFP+ module (I am not using ONET1151L, ONET1151P, ONET8551T as my ROSA, TOSA, and TIA modules).

Hi Morad,

Unfortunately we cant guarantee that the host board will be compatible with a non-TI SPF+ module. Have you tried using the board with the TI module and confirmed that it worked?
