ESD2CAN24-Q1: Alternative recommendation

Part Number: ESD2CAN24-Q1

Hi team,

Can you please share your alternatives for the parts below? bomcross tool is not giving exact PNs but I see we should have ESD for LIN and CAN here.

SMA6T18AY

SM6T36CAY

ESDLIN1524BJ

ESDCAN03-2BWY

SM15T68CAY

ESDCAN02-2BWY

Best regards, Antoine

  • Hi Antoine,

    Please see the table for our best recommendations:

    Competitor TI P2P Notes
    SMA6T18AY TVS1400DRVR Best recommendation we have
    SM6T36CAY TVS3301DRBR Best recommendation we have
    ESDLIN1524BJ ESD1LIN24DYFRQ1 yes

    ESDCAN03-2BWY

    ESD2CANFD24DBZRQ1,

    ESD2CANXL24DBZRQ1

    CAN FD <= 5 Mbps

    CAN XL <= 20 Mbps

    SM15T68CAY no TI device Unfortunately, we are not able to match the working voltage
    ESDCAN02-2BWY

    ESD2CANFD24DBZRQ1,

    ESD2CANXL24DBZRQ1

    CAN FD <= 5 Mbps

    CAN XL <= 20 Mbps

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hi Eaker,

    Thank you this is clear, but I have a few questions:

    • ESDCANxx alrernatives: to me we are p2p when looking at the actual DS: can you confirm?
    • TVS: do we have Q1 parts?

    Thanks again,

    Best regards, Antoine

  • Hi Antoine,

    My apologies for the confusion. Hope this will clear it up.

    1. For ESD2CANxx alternatives, both XL and FD only come in one package (SOT-23/DBZ) that is not p2p to the competitor device. ESD2CAN24-Q1 comes in 2 packages: SOT-23/DBZ and SOT-SC70/DCK. The SOT-SC70 package is p2p (ESD2CAN24DCKRQ1).
    2. We do not have Q1 parts for the TVS family. Do you have any use cases for TVS being Q1? This can be noted for future developments.

    Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Best Regards,

    McKenzie

  • Hi Eaker,

    Thanks, my comments below:

    For ESD2CANxx alternatives, both XL and FD only come in one package (SOT-23/DBZ) that is not p2p to the competitor device. ESD2CAN24-Q1 comes in 2 packages: SOT-23/DBZ and SOT-SC70/DCK. The SOT-SC70 package is p2p (ESD2CAN24DCKRQ1).

    Clear: in that case, can I recommend the DCK ESD2CAN24-Q1 as p2p alternative? the line capacitance of both ST parts is 3pF typical, 3.5pf max. Ours is also 3pF typical, but 5pF max.

    We do not have Q1 parts for the TVS family. Do you have any use cases for TVS being Q1? This can be noted for future developments.

    I have no specific use cases in mind, but I am seeing ST TVS diodes AEC-Q101 at my customer, so I'm certain there are.

    Best regards, Antoine

  • Hi Antoine,

    Yes, you can recommend the DCK ESD2CAN24-Q1 as a p2p alternative. This is the best recommendation we have for p2p and auto-qualified.

    Thank you for letting me know about the AEC-Q101 at your customer. We will note this for the future.

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Best Regards,

    McKenzie

  • Thank you McKenzie!
