Hello,
In a picture of TUSB1002A's VQFN package (RGE) in the data sheet, what appear to be metal exposed outside are seen. I'd like to confirm if these are really metal or not.
Best regards,
Shinichi Yokota

Please let me check and get back to you on this one.
Thanks

The QFN Layout Guidelines application report has an X-ray of the DRB 8 package:
These pieces of exposed metal are part of the lead frame, and are necessary to hold the lead frame in place during manufacturing.
The lead frame, like the thermal pad, usually is connected to GND (or the negative supply for opamps).
David,
Thanks. Then, I have some additional questions.

I honestly don't know the answer to these two questions. The exposed metal is not connected to anything on the PCB board, so to me it is a don't care situation.
Thanks
David
