We are using single DS160PT801 retimer chip to connect our PCI host to a RC as per below diagram.

We have below questions:

1. Is this configuration  possible with single  DS160PT801 retimer chip?

2. If single DS160PT801 retimer chip is used , what is the config required on  MODE pin?

    Hi Prashanth,

    1. Yes, this configuration is possible using a single DS160PT801.
    2. Please refer to data sheet Table 6-1 for WIDTH pin configuration modes. The link width may be configured via pin strap, EEPROM firmware or SMBus/I2C configuration depending on the WIDTH strap selected. I am assuming the Intel Motherboard supports 2x4 bifurcation, which must be correctly configured in the BIOS as well.
