TCA9509: TCA9509 vs TCA9517 vs TCA9801

Part Number: TCA9509
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9801, , TCA9517

Hello expert,

My customer would like to know the difference between TCA9509 vs TCA9517 vs TCA9801. Could you provide the comparison table for it? Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hey Ann,

Here is a general comparison table for the 3 I2C buffers requested (I have also included the TCA9617 that is capable of 1MHz operation. Both the TCA9509/ TCA9801 use an internal current source for the pull-up current while the TCA9517 uses a static voltage offset functionality to detect which side of the device is driving low. Depending on the I2C buffer used, there are certain design limitations per each device.

You may also reference Why, When, and How to use I 2C Buffers and the table at the bottom of this app note for further clarification.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Jack
