SN75160B: alternatives parts?

hi Sir

Due to the SN75160B is the last time buy, I saw the  alternatives parts is SN65C1167E

the two parts is the same?

i saw the data sheet is very different

please advise it,thanks

    Hi Chen,

    I checked in our internal site and the dies between the two parts are not the same. 

    It looks like the new device recommended is an RS422 transceiver. The older EOL device isn't something that we have any true alternative devices for anymore since this kind of transceiver (looks like an RS-488) is outdated. The recommendation is to move to RS422 or RS485 instead.

    TI is discontinuing all GPIB transceivers; there is no simple replacement.

    You should now buy all GPIB transceivers that you will ever need. If this is not possible, you might be able to design a replacement, with some effort; see SN75160B: Alternatives to SN75161BDW.
