[FAQ] LIN Protection

Back to Interface Home Page

LIN Protection

Highlights:

  • LIN: Single ended data transfer interface
  • LIN clusters consist of 1 master and up to 16 slave nodes
  • Construction: One wire for data transfer + ground
  • Bidirectional configuration is needed to protect from line faults and miswiring
  • Working Voltage range of 12V
  • For a 12V battery system, in order to protect from miswiring, a 24V Protection diode is recommended
  • Though a low data rate of up to 20kbps does not have a constraint on the capacitance, it is advised to have lower capacitance to ensure signal integrity
