DS90C385A: AM437x LVDS interface pinout

Part Number: DS90C385A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDS93

Hi,

We are using the AM437x with SN65LVDS93 transmitter for some time and it works fine, now we have to change our transmitter to a dual-pixel LVDS transmitter and we just want some confirmation.

1) We have found that DS9C0385A is similar on the input side and provide dual-pixel output, so we are considering using it but we are open to suggestions and want to know if you would recommend another trasnmitter instead.

2) Please see our current connection between AM437x and SN65LVDS93 in the below schematics, as you can see we are only using 16-bits and not the full 24. Can you please confirm that we can use exactly same input connections for DS9C0385A? It seems like the input connections are same pin-to-pin but we need confirmation.(D0=Txin0, D1= Txin1 and so on)

3) Specifically please check and confirm that the cross connections (D0-D6, D15-D22) can be the same with DS9C0385A.

Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

Regards,

Berkay

  • Hi Berkay, please allow me 2 days to check this and get back to you.

  • Hi Berkay,

Yes, for the dual pixel application the DS9C0385A could be applicable here. Could you please tell us what the 16-bit inputs are here (some lines are grounded, or connected to the same sources).

Also, what type of LVDS output are you using here? In the dual-pixel output will it also use 3 lanes, also is there going to be a paired receiver?

    Best regards,
    Ikram
