TDP0604: TDP0604 - ARE AC CAPS REQUIRED ON DP OUTPUT

Part Number: TDP0604

We are operating the TDP0604IRNQT in I2C mode for DisplayPort. Do the TDP0604IRNQT TX transmitters need to be externally AC coupled ?  It is not clear from the datasheet. Since we are in I2C mode, configuration is via the registers.  The description of the TX_AC_EN bit states that it "controls the selection of AC-coupled or DC-coupled TX termination. When AC-coupled is enabled, 50 ohm termination on both P and N to VCC will be enabled"  A setting of 0 = DC-coupled, a setting of 1 = AC-coupled.  So does this AC coupling happen INSIDE the TDP0604IRNQT or does it mean we have to ADD AC coupling capacitors externally ??
