DS560DF810: Test Pins

Part Number: DS560DF810

Tool/software:

The Pin Functions table in the datasheet says that the TEST pins "can be configured as GPIs (for example, TEST6 can be used to set crosspoint
behavior)"

Other than this extract there is no mention of the TEST6 being used as the pin for crosspoint control. The DS560DFxx0 Programming Guide refers to an unnamed GPIO in section 5.3.36, but does not confirm which TEST pin can be used.

Please can you confirm that TEST6 is used for Crosspoint control?

Do test pins other than TEST6 have any functionality?

  • Hi Tom,

I can confirm that TEST6 can be used for crosspoint control. Please review the app note "Crosspoint Switching Optimization With TI 56G Redrivers and Retimers," which is available in the MySecure design resources folder. GPIO control of crosspoint is covered in section 3.2 "Retimer Crosspoint/Gearbox Modes."

Currently, DS560DFx10 TEST pins do not have any other functionality besides crosspoint control. All device configurations are programmed by an I2C controller.

    Best,

    Lucas
