TUSB2046B: DESIGN REVIEW

Dear Sir,

I have used a TIUSB2046B USB hub in my design. I have taken 4 port hub but I am using only 2 port of it remaining 2 port I have disconnected so in future If have to used I can use it. My usb hub is self powered. My design flow is:

TYPE C>USB HUB> 1 port going to MSP controller USB port and one port to STM controller through USB TO UART CONVERTER IC.

I have attached image of my design, please review it and let me know if any changes required. I have also used load switch, is it required or not as i am not using any TYPE-A downstream device.

Dear Sir,

Please find the attached PDF file of USB HUB section schematic and let me know if any flaws are present in it. Also, sir one more thing which I want to ask is that on USB signals going to other sheet I had used termination resistors of 27 ohm. Can it be ok if I use 22 ohm instead of 27 for USB signals going on other sheet.

Hi:

22 ohm on DP/DM should be ok.

need caps on crystal pin 1and 3 as well

c50 should be 1uf or larger

It will failed CC compliance test if no CC controller

Dear sir,
I have done all the changes as recommended by you as I am using resonators it has internal load capacitance so I think there is no need of external capacitors.The one doubt which I have is there any need of damping resistor of 1.5kohm on XTAL 2 pin as in datasheet it is mentioned wrt some crystal. The resonator which I am using has a part number CSTNR6M00GH5L000R0. I have also attached image of datasheet section for your reference,

Hi Shubham:

CSTNR6M00GH5L can Oscillate without external loading caps.

For damping resistor of 1.5kohm on XTAL 2 pin, I suggest to install 0ohm resistor there incase you do need 1.5kohm .
