TL16C550D: BAUDOUT and RCLK internal connection

Hi team,

The datasheet states that in the RHB package, BAUDOUT and RCLK are connected internally.

 "There is an internal connection between BAUDOUT and RCLK."

Does this mean that in the PT/PFB package the terminals are connected as shown?

    Hi Hirotsugu,

    That's correct, you can connect the Baudout to the RCLK on those packages externally to ensure the RCLK has the same 16x clock as the transmitter clock uses. Optionally you can set the receiver clock input to a different clock (needs to be 16x the baudrate you need) but in most cases customers/designers will connect to the baudout signal.
