Hi,

I'm searching a integrated circuit to determine the orientation on a USB-C connection.

My goal is to avoid implement a comparator circuitry.

With the output of this circuit I'll inform TUSB1142 about orientation in order to send signals to USB-A 3.1 receptacle connector.

There any device to do this job?

    Hi,

    You could use one of our CC controllers with an orientation output signal. Consider the TUSB321AI for this purpose.

    The TUSB321 DIR pin can be used to control the TUSB1142 FLIP signal. If you need I2C capabilities from the CC controller, consider the TUSB322I.

    Be aware that CC controllers are relatively simple USB-C devices that do not integrate a VBUS switch and will only support a maximum of 5V 3A on the VBUS. If you need higher power capabilities, a PD controller would be better.
