FLINK3V8BT-85: Cable and connector types for LVDS link?

Hi,

This eval board uses headers and a ribbon cable. For an application where I'd prefer not to use IDC/ribbon, what is the recommended cable type for a 1 meter length? Do I need a shielded cable? Is there a suitable connector that is more rugged and allows a few mating cycles?

Hi Ikram,

Thanks for looking into it. I was doing some digging and it appears that a standard Display Port cable has five twisted pairs, plus a couple for power and ground. Might that be just the ticket?

We cannot provide exact recommendations for this, however you could consider using low-skew MDR or CAT-5 type twisted pair cables for this.
