Tool/software:

Supply voltage for the chip is -0.5 to 7V.  But the recommended operating condition is from 4.5 to 5.5V.  Is it ok if we use 3.3V supply for the chip?  Is there any issue if we use 3.3V supply?

Thank you!

  • Hi Ryan,

The -0.5V to 7V range is the absolute max/min for the device - outside of this range you will most likely damage device.

The 4.5V to 5.5V range is the range where we guarantee operation as stated in datasheet - so ultimately you need to run application between 4.5V and 5.5V for proper operation.

Using device at 3.3V the device may not work properly and we don't guarantee performance at that point - so it strongly suggested not to do that because behavior could be undefined.

    Best,

    Parker Dodson

  • For historical reasons, almost all space-rated transceivers require a 5 V supply. If you cannot change the supply, then your only choice is 2× THVD9491-SEP.
