DS125DF410: DS125DF410

Part Number: DS125DF410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DPS-DONGLE-EVM, USB2ANY

Tool/software:

  1. In our design we are using 14 retimers DS125DF410 , we are planning to use 5 retimers in each daisy chaining mechanism(5-5-4), for this architecture 1EEPROM is sufficient or 3 EEPROM’s are required.

  2. If we have to use SigCon Architect for generating hex files for EEPROM and also eye monitor, what provision  at hardware level should be provided(Interfaces used to access utility).

  • Hi Pankaj,

Will all 4 channels on each retimer have identical settings? If this is the case, it may be possible to use one EEPROM for all 14 retimers.

The max EEPROM size supported by DS125DF410 is 2048 bytes. 51 byte are necessary for base header and address header information. The data configuration block for each channel is 75 bytes. However, if common channel setting is enabled, all 4 channels of a retimer share a single data configuration block. Additionally, it's possible for multiple retimers to reference the same data configuration block if they have the same configuration.

To use SigCon Architect GUI, a USB2ANY or DPS-DONGLE-EVM device is necessary.

I'd like to double check, when you say 5 retimers will be used in a daisy chain, do you simply mean chaining ALL_DONE to READ_EN of each retimer? Or do you mean that 5 retimers will be daisy chained along the high-speed channel?

    Best,

    Lucas
