TCAN1043HG-Q1: 48V system request

Part Number: TCAN1043HG-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer (Enpower) is looking for 48V CAN devices, and I have promoted TCAN1043HG-Q1 to them. But they think the 70V Absolute Maximum Voltage of TCAN1043HG-Q1 is too low for 48 V battery. The maximum transient voltage is about 100V in customer's 48V system. Do you think TCAN1043HG-Q1 can meet this request or do we have more suitable devices? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Ryker

  • Hi Ryker,

TCAN1043HG is the correct device to recommend for 48V systems. Currently 70V fault protection is the highest we offer.

TCAN1043HG can handle 100V transients if they strictly follow ISO 7637-2. However, this is a very specific test, and I would recommend the customer validate this with their particular system. I would presume that this device will work with their 100V transient, but that is just my speculation.

Let me know if that answers the customer's question,
