We have chosen SN65HVD1040 as an alternative for the MCP2551-1/SN component. We need to ensure that the power supply is compatible, so we should check with TI. In our worst-case scenario, the maximum voltage is 5.3V, while the datasheet mentions a maximum rating of 5.25V.

    Hi Srinivas,

    The device will not be damaged as this is below the abs max rating. However, the specified electrical characteristics may not be guaranteed until the device is within the recommended operating condition.
