I am working with part number PCF8575CPW and saw the operating free-air temperature for the part in the datasheet but did not see a junction temperature. Is there any other documentation that includes the junction temperature?

Hi Nicholas,

We do not have a TJ(max) spec for this part. You would need to estimate it by using this app note.

A device like TCAL6416 spec's this out in the absolute maximum conditions table.

How are you measuring junction temperature in your application?

Hello Tyler,

I read the app note and would be happy to use it to estimate the TJ(max), however, for my part: PCF8575CPW, the data sheet only provides an RθJA and, as the app note states, "RθJA parameter is not suitable for estimating junction temperature in actual applications." Do you know if there is any other documentation for the thermal characterization parameter or thermal resistance for this part?

For this specific device no.

But TCAL devices usually have some type of TJ spec listed.
