The LMH0394 and LMH0366 can both be operated in SPI mode and they can also be 'daisy-chained' as outlined in their respective datasheets. Is it possible to daisy chain an LMH0394 then LMH0366, then LMH0394 then LMH0366 etc?

I presume this would work as long as the SPI S/W knows the device organisation and hence the register locations in the shift register.

Yes, the SPI controllers used in the LMH0394 and LMH0366 are 100% compatible, so these devices may be daisy chained interchangeably. As you said, the host only needs to know the device order in the daisy chain in order to properly configure/monitor each individual device (and the register maps between the LMH0394 and LMH0366 are obviously different).

As Gary says, the devices can be daisy chained, however, if the devices are daisy chained, it will slow down the operation of the SPI bus, which usually would not be an issue, but of you are planning on using the Eye monitor function on the LMH0366, you might want to confirm that the slow down will not result in unacceptably long downloads of the eye monitor data.
