PCIe over optical fiber with SN65LVPE501

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVPE501

Hello,

I am designing a 1 lane external PCI express Gen 2 solution over optical fiber. I plan to use SN65LVPE501 redriver on the adapter board for receiver detection and electrical idle detection purposes. My questions are:

1- I want to connect the RST pin to the PERST pin of the PCI Express connector directly. Is this a good idea?

2 - I want to make the remote device hot pluggable. After power on the device performs an infinite Rx detection. What if the remote device is disconnected and connected again. Does the device perform RX detection again.

3 - If I connect PRSN1# and PRSNT2# pins of the PCI Express connector, does it still support hot plugging?
