I have a question from our customer about EOM timer threshold (ADR 0x2A).

I have read the datasheet and understood that this value sets EOM monitoring time (acquires more samples when set to higer value).

If customer wants to chage this value, how should you choose the number ?

How much sample is increased when this register is increased by 1 ?

count-time = reg_2A*4096*32/vcoRate

Thank you for the equation. What is the unit for count-time, second ?

Please tell me what the value would be for 10GbE with default reg_2A.

Count-time = 0x30 * 4096 * 32 / 10.3125G = 610us

Does this mean 64x64 eye pattern data measurement is completed in 610us ?

Kawai-San,

This is the amount of time or the number of bits for each 64X64 matrix that we collect to determine the number of hits. Thus the total time 64X64 matirx would be 64*64*610us=2.5 seconds. In other words, the EOM timer is the number of bits we collect per point to determine the numbe of hits per point.
