Hi Team,

Could you please help us support our customer ?
Our customer is having trouble that USB3.0 device is sometime recognized as USB2.0(HS) device.

They observed DP/DM signal during USB3.0 training.
When the device is recognized and linked up as USB3.0, USB2.0 signal still appears intermittently.

When the device is recognized as USB2.0, training is successfully done and linked up as USB2.0(HS).

This behavior is logically abnormal.

What is do you think is the root cause that USB3.0 device is linked up as USB2.0 ?

Hello Wawai,

Could you confirm that the issue occurs with more than one device, also if the same device produce the same result in a different USB3 PHY/HOST?

Currently, issue only occurs with one specific device.

As we do not have the result for other USB3.0 PHY/HOST, please give me time to ask customer for the information.

Hi Diego-san,

I have confirmed customers connection.

USB3.0 Host : PC
USB3.0 Device : TUSB1310A (USB Bus powered)

The issue occurs with probability 1/10 when they connect USB cable to the PC.

They have tested using different PC (different chipset), however the issue still occurs.

TUSB1310A is not yet replaced to other TUSB1310A.

Please help us on this issue.

Hello Takashi-san,

The USB3 enumeration process is pretty complex, so I would like to have a USB trace (or host debug information log) of the issue, in order to know exactly what is going on. Could you provide it?
