DS15MB200 hot-plug details

The DS15MB200 LVDS buffer mentions "Hot Plug Protection" in the datasheet, but no details are given.

The Absolute Maximum Ratings limit input pins to VDD+0.3V, so when the DS15MB200 is not powered, no signal must be applied at the inputs. This seems contradicting to hot plug.

Could you please provide details on the DS15MB200's hot plug capabilities?

    I see the unintentional contradiction in the device features and specifications.  The DS15MB200 cannot provide complete hot-plug protection by itself.  It requires a proper connection sequence to remain within the maximum operating conditions.  I recommend three levels of connection whenever possible at connectors where hot-plug will be encountered.

    1. GND

    2. Supply Voltages

    3. Signals
