Hello Team,
I would like to ask about SN65HVD82.
Could you tell me if SN65HVD82 has "Hot plug" or "Glitch–Free Power–Up/Down Bus Inputs and Outputs" feature?
Best Regards,
Hidetoshi Matsunami

as far as I know the HVD82 it is glitch free during power-up and down. Whether it is hot plug-in capable I need to check with the test engineer who came back from vacation today.

Now we know it.
It is glitch-free but not hot plugin capabale.

Dear Thormas-san,
I'm working with Matsunami and I received answer from you that "Glitch–Free Power–Up/Down Bus Inputs and Outputs" means it has Hot-Plugging capability. So please confirm again and explain the difference between glitch free and hot plug.

Glitch-free is when the device is fixed in a socket or circuit and the power supply is turned on or off and the device does not glitch.
Hot-plugin means, when during operation, the device or module is physically removed from the bus and connected to the bus.
The HVD82 shows no glitches during the power up or power-down sequence.
But it will cause a glitch when it is separated from the bus or plugged it to the bus during operation. This glitch will be misunderstood by other bus transceivers on the bus as a start-pulse and data errors can occur.

Hi Thomas-san,
Thank you for your comments. Please let me make myself clear about glitch free and hot plug.
Both SN65HVD3085E and SN65HVD82 has glitch free feature but has no hot plug capability. Is my understanding correct?
For my reference, it will be appreciated if you can introduce RS-485 transceiver which has hot plug capability.
Best Regards,
Sonoki
