We would like to send just ancillary data on our SDI up-link, and, given that the LMH0030 is so sensitive to jitter on VCLK, we would like to use a 74.25MHz oscillator and use the internal TPG to create the video data. In the TPG mode will the LMH0030 still send ancillary data clocked in by ACLK?

Hi Richard,

LMH0030 will send out the internally generated ancillary data when in TPG mode. Would it be possible to use a jitter cleaner to clean the jitter on VCLK?

Hi Nasser,

Thank you for your answer. I shall tell the software engineer to stop trying to decode the ancillary data in this mode, as it is a dead end.

We implemented clock cleaning successfully on the camera down-link, but unfortunately this design feature isn't implemented in the up-link side of the system. So, we now know what to do, the question is just how we do it.
