Hello,

In using the DS91M040 in our application, there is the possibility of having many powered down devices attached to the bus. What do the MLVDS IOs look like when the part is powered down (MDE pin low)? Are they High Z? Or is it an indeterminate state? Or other?

Hi Eric,

When MDE is low the MLVDS pins are all Hi-Z.

We have a situation where there is a bus with multiple of this device on it, each part with their own power source. When there is no VDD applied to some of the devices on the bus and others are fully powered and operational, do the non-powered devices put their I/O in Hi-Z (similar to if they had VDD but their MDE pin was disabled)?

Hi Kari,

The DS91M040 datasheet covers this type of condition on page 6. IA(off) and IB(off). The testing is completed with DE=Low, using a resistor pull-down should setup this condition in your system.
