TPD4S009 vs TPD4S010

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD4S009, TPD4S010

Hi,

I would like to ask you some questions about the difference between TPD4S009 and TPD4S010.

Q1) The difference is only "Vcc" pin, correct?

Q2) The porpose of "Vcc" pin

I do not understand well about the porpose of this Vcc pin.

One of the porposes is "Ioff", I think. But in case of using Ioff, I suppose we should use TPD4S010 instead because it has no Vcc pin.

And I do not know well any other merits of "Vcc" pin.

Frankly speaking, I feel that only TPD4S010 is enough to use and I do not understand well the merit of TPD4S009.

Q3) Data sheet P12 description

There is following explanation about TPD4S009.

I do not understand well about the meaning of the sentence "However, TPD4S009...."

Would you tell me the meaning?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best Regards,

  • Hello,

Q1) Other than the available packages, this is correct.

Q2) The VCC pin is a protection pin that is used for protecting a VCC rail if an application needs that feature.

Q3) I don't see any benefit ensuring a known voltage on the internal nodes provides, but it is a true statement. As long as all voltages are in the recommended range, regardless of the state of the voltage on the VCC pin at startup, all the other pins' voltages and input impedance are unaffected. The main purpose of the VCC pin is to protect a VCC rail.

  • Hi Guy-san,
    Thanks for your reply.
