Hello,

Our customer uses the SN75175.

The customer wants to know the absolute maximum ratings about output terminal.

It is mentioned the Low-level output current on the datasheet. But there is no data of

output voltage.

How about the output terminal voltage of absolute maximum ratings?

As shown on page 4 of the datasheet, the output voltage is guaranteed to be below 0.5 V when sinking 16 mA.

Any output current of more than 16 mA is outside the recommended operating conditions, so in that case, the device would not be guaranteed to work at all. Even if it works, the output transistor (see p. 2) might no longer be saturated, so when sinking 50 mA, V_OL could be as high as V_CC.

I want to know the apply voltage from external.

ex) from -0.5V to Vcc+0.5V
Is there any absolute maximum ratings of the output terminal?

The output equivalent schematic looks like a typical (L)S-TTL output without ESD protection diodes. The maximum rating would then be the transistors' emitter/base breakdown voltage, which probably is 5.5 V (taken from the SN74LS240 datasheet; that device might or might not have the same characteristics).

I doubt that you will be able to get an official specification.

Naoki,

The output should not go below ground by more than 0.3V
The maximum positive voltage is 5.5V
